EDUCATION

We offer a variety of educational programs for students, scouts, and children of all ages. A typical program includes a docent-led Museum tour to learn a brief history of the Dunham family and an explanation of life in the early 1800s, followed by a grade-level-appropriate educational activity held in the Dunham Barn. Groups are more than welcome to bring lunches, and both outside and inside seating are available. We invite groups of all sizes and can accommodate up to 60 students.

THE COLLECTION

The Dunham Tavern Museum & Gardens permanent collection exists primarily for the purpose of preserving an example of an early Northeast Ohio home and tavern. Primarily from the period of 1824-1853, the collection includes furnishings, fixtures, fine art, decorative accessories, and objects appropriate for an early Northeast Ohio home and tavern of the period.

THE LIBRARY

The Museum Library contains books about antiques, collecting, decorative arts, and Cleveland history. Researchers and the general public are invited to utilize the library and archives, which are non-circulating.
